Royal Wedding Fever!

Royal Wedding Fever was strong Thursday night and all throughout the weekend. Seemed like you couldn't turn on the TV or radio without hearing Prince William this...the Queen that...etc.

What were some people...ahem...ahem...not mentioning any names THINKING though with some of those hats. As a bride to be, and in the beginning stages of planning a wedding of my own I'm loving the idea of some guests wearing hats but please no ignoramus hard pale pink bow...thing...or something that looks like a satellite dish. The folks behind you at the ceremony will be less than pleased.

This is one of the many things that make it great to be a girl. You can dress up in silly hats, sip tea and crumpets (actual crumpets, Lane is an amazing hostess:) gossip about everything from Posh's hat to her handsome and yummy hubby to the weird fruitcake tradition and debate the trees in Westminster.

Yes, even at 5:30 am it's still fun to be a chick and have a watch party for the young royals. For all you fellas rolling your eyes out there, we girls are the ones brought up on stories like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, so in a way (despite the Middleton's self made millions) Waity Katie was "a commoner" and married her Prince Charming.

So Cheers!

I've recovered from my all-nighter with friends and now that I've witnessed the first glimpse of Kate's dress--stunning!!!---I can move on with my life and lets hope the TV channels and radio stations soon follow :)

Exciting News!!

"I'm engaged!"

It still sounds so weird to say that...but I'm so excited and very much in love with my husband to be-Larry! When I first came to Abilene I never imagined I'd find the love of my life but one morning at Habitat for Humanity that's exactly who I ran into. It was love over hammers and nails, we literally met laughing over how I could barely lift up a sledge hammer.

This goes to show that more than charitable work can come out of volunteering;)

He loves to tell this story of how we met to anyone who'll listen, just another reason why I love this man. So when he surprised me on our last day of vacation at home by proposing--it took a nanosecond to say "Yes!!!!" jumping into his arms and deciding to officially start our lives together.

I have no idea why I've been seeing wedding dresses, noticed rings, heard wedding words EVERYWHERE I've been since then...maybe it's like buying a car, you start seeing cars that you never saw before. For now Larry and I are enjoying being engaged and are excited to plan a wedding and most of all our life after that.

Any tips y'all may have on wedding planning, honeymoon spots, pour 'em in.
I'm a happy bride-to-be who's still smiling :)
